ELENA TORREGARAI

Professor of Ancient History at the University of the Basque Country. Her research focuses on the Roman Republic, with special dedication to the elaboration of political memory within the Roman aristocracy and to the study of diplomacy between the Romans and the communities that formed part of their Empire. She has studied also the Ancient History of the Basque Country. She has been a visiting professor at the University of Paris I-Panthéon-Sorbonne and the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she has taught courses and seminars at the universities of Genoa, Geneva, Edinburgh, MGIMO-Moscow and work as scientific director of the Oiasso museum in Irun.
