Archaeologist and professor of Roman archaeology at the University of Nantes. He is associated with the Laboratoire de recherche Archéologie et Architecture (LARA, Nantes), which belongs to the UMR 6566 CReAAH. He is a specialist in archaeology of the humid and underwater environments. A part of his activity is devoted to the development and practice of port archaeology in metropolitan France, having directed the archaeological excavation of the Roman port of Aizier (Eure) and in co-direction that of the Roman port quarter of Saint-Lupien in Rezé (Loire-Atlantique).
